2021/22 TIO NTFL MRP Round 7

AFL Northern Territory (AFLNT) wishes to advise the Match Review Panel (MRP) has reviewed all matches played in Round 7 of the 2021/22 TIO NTFL season, and the following charges have been laid:

Men’s Premier League

Brendan Kantilla of Tiwi Bombers Football Club has been charged with striking against #14 of Southern Districts Football Club in the fourth quarter of the NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Tiwi Bombers and Southern Districts at TIO Stadium on Saturday 13 November 2021.

Based on the evidence available, it was the view of the MRP that the incident should be classified as careless conduct, low impact and high contact, resulting in a one-match penalty.

In summary, Kantilla can accept a reprimand with an early guilty plea.

Brandon Ugle of Palmerston Magpies Football Club has been charged with rough conduct against #6 of Nightcliff Football Club in the second quarter of the NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Palmerston Magpies and Nightcliff at Cazalys Arena on Saturday 13 November 2021.

Based on the evidence available, it was the view of the MRP that the incident should be classified as intentional conduct, low impact and high contact, resulting in a two-match penalty.

In summary, Ugle can accept a one-match penalty with an early guilty plea.

Men’s Division 1

Allan May of St Mary’s Football Club has been charged with striking #3 of Palmerston Magpies in the third quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Division 1 match between St Mary’s and Nightcliff at Cazalys Arena on Saturday 13 November 2021.

Based on the evidence available, it was the view of the MRP that the incident should be classified as intentional conduct, high impact and high contact, resulting in a four-match penalty.

In summary, May can accept a three-match penalty with an early guilty plea.

The club/players via the club's tribunal advocate have until 9:00pm tonight (Tuesday) to accept the early plea or lodge an appeal to have the matter heard by an independent Tribunal.

AFLNT will only issue a further update if the club/player chooses to challenge at Tribunal.

*UPDATE: Brendan Kantilla of Tiwi Bombers, Brandon Ugle of Palmerston Magpies and Allan May of St Mary’s accepted their early guilty pleas.
