The 2024 Marsh AFL National Development Championships – U16 Girls commence on Sunday, April 7 with South Australia hosting Victoria Metro at Adelaide’s Prospect Oval as part of the AFL’s Gather Round festivities.
Two matches will also be played in Melbourne on the same day, with Trevor Barker Beach Oval hosting a double-header which will begin with a clash between Victoria Country and the Brisbane Lions Academy. That match will be followed by the Gold Coast Suns Academy taking on Western Australia.
All teams will play two matches during the 2024 Marsh AFL National Development Championships – U16 Girls.
The teams that finish top of the standings for each pool will be crowned title winners.
If two teams finish equal on points atop a ladder, the title will be awarded to the team that won the round-robin match between those two teams. If those two sides have not played against each other, or if more than two teams finish equal on points atop a ladder, the title will be awarded to the team with the highest percentage.
At the conclusion of the Championships each team will select their MVP, with an overall MVP and All Australian team to also be selected by a panel comprising AFL Talent Pathways staff and AFLW recruiters.
