AFL update on vaccination policy and what it means for Territory football

AFLVP

The AFL has released its COVID-19 vaccination policy for all VFL, VFLW and Talent Pathway players and football staff. As part of this, the AFL has clarified its position on vaccination requirements for community football.

The AFL will adopt the same vaccination requirements for participants in community football as those put in place by the relevant State or Territory Government for community sport.

AFL Northern Territory will endeavour to keep stakeholders updated with any further details regarding vaccination requirements relevant to those participating in community football competitions and programs in the Northern Territory, based on requirements put in place by the Territory Government.

The current Northern Territory Government requirement for community sport is patrons participating in sport do not need to be vaccinated to participate, however those facilitating sport (e.g., umpries, coaches, volunteers) do.

The health and safety or our community is always the top priority and the AFL strongly encourages the community to get vaccinated if you can. This helps to protect not just you but your family, friends and people in your community.
