Jimmy Anderson

Player

A player who epitomised the courage and strength associated with his club’s logo through the 1950’s and 60’s was Darwin Buffalo Jimmy Anderson. He played in nine grand finals for the Buffs, winning three premierships in 1962/63, 1963/64 and 1967/68.

A tough on-baller, Anderson won the club Best and Fairest three times in 1957/58, 1961/62 and 1963/64, was twice runner up in the Nichols Medal in 1961/62 and 1963/64 and finished third in 1957/58.

Represented the NT five times from 1966 to 1969 and also played 2 seasons for WAFL Club West Perth.

Coached Buffaloes in 1960/61 and Wanderers in 1971/72. Buffaloes Life Member and NTFL Player Life Member.

A true NTFL star of yesteryear and a worthy inductee into the AFLNT Hall of Fame.
