Considered to be a true ‘gentleman footballer’ and remembered as one of the Darwin Buffaloes favorite sons is Steve Abala Snr.

Displaying tremendous leadership, he captained the club from 1950 to 1953. Abala played in six grand finals winning four of them in the period from 1948/49 to 1951/52.

A two time Buffaloes Best and Fairest winner as well as the prestigious 1950/51 NTFL Best & Fairest Nichols Medalist.

The Abala legacy will be permanently enshrined in Northern Territory sporting history as we welcome this truly worthy inductee into the AFLNT Hall of Fame.
