Don McMillan
A Wanderers stalwart Don McMillan has been acknowledged as being prominent in the early years in helping to establish the club.
Known as ‘War Horse’, McMillan played for the Eagles from 1917 to 1924 and again from 1933 to 1935.
He won the coveted NTFL League Best & Fairest in 1919/20 and was vice captain of the first premiership side in 1917.
McMillan also played with Waratahs from 1924 to 1927 and the Darwin Buffaloes from 1927 to 1933.
One of 5 brothers who started playing for Wanderers in 1917 he won 5 premierships with the Eagles and 1 with Buffaloes, captaining the club from 1930 to 1933. He was elected an NTFL Life Member in 1931 and retired in 1935 after 19 seasons of football.
A true NTFL star of yesteryear and worthy inductee into the AFLNT Hall of Fame.
