2023/24 TIO NTFL Final Series Week 1 Fixture

Tickets available now!

Week 1 of the 2023/24 TIO NTFL Finals Series for the Men's and Women's Premier League divisions have been scheduled.

In Women's Premier League, it was a tense battle for final ladder positions right up until the last game of the regular season was completed.

It was PINT who once again remained a force to be reckoned with, finishing the home and away season with 15 wins and a healthy percentage of an incredible 662.44%. Securing the Minor Premiers title for the 2023/24 TIO NTFL season the Queenants, will have the bye week 1 and then head straight into week 2 of Finals when they take on the winner of next weekend’s Qualifying Final.

To kick-off the Women’s Premier League, at 12:15PM will be the first of the Elimination Finals between the fourth place Waratah and fifth place Buffaloes. Waratah have cemented themselves once again as a premiership contender but will have to overcome form struggles over recent weeks with Ruby O’Dwyer leading the charge. It’s almost the exact opposite for the Buffaloes, who after an eight-game losing streak have bounced back and now find themselves with a shot at glory. All eyes will be on 2x Women’s Best and Fairest Molly Althouse to set the tone in the Elimination Final.

Powerhouse St Mary’s who fell short in the Preliminary final last season, will take on the Nightcliff Tigers in next weekend’s Qualifying Final at TIO Stadium at 2:15PM. Last time they met, St Mary’s put on a second quarter of a lifetime piling on six quick goals to set up Saints with a 26-point victory. Undoubtedly, Nightcliff will have learnt from that match and will have major goal kickers in Mickayla Ward and Cassie McWilliam continue their form after a stellar season. But can they contain the impact players like Emily Forshaw, Billie Byers, and Jemma Iacono?

With 13 wins under their belt, finishing as the Men's Premier League minor premiers, St Mary’s will enjoy a week off and progress straight through to a Semi Final in week 2, where they will meet the winner of the week 1 Qualifying Final.

In what will be yet another thriller where reigning premiers, Southern Districts, will face off against the finals first timers, PINT at 4:15PM next Saturday in the first Elimination Final at TIO Stadium. PINT are debuting in their first Men’s Premier League Final Series since entering the Men’s Premier League competition. The last time they met in Round 14, it was a hot start for PINT but the Crocs stormed home taking the win by seven points in a low scoring affair. Southern Districts star ruckman Matthew Dennis stated earlier in the season about his intentions to win the flag, can the tick the first box with a win against PINT or will Shannon Motlop coach his side into a semi-final?

Recent three-peat premiers Nightcliff Tigers make their return to finals after finishing the regular season in second spot and will play a blockbuster Qualifying Final at 6:45PM on Saturday against their most recent opponents Waratah, who secured third place after a hot start to the season. The two sides met recently in Round 18 at Darwin Mazda Nightcliff Oval where both sides featured in a low scoring clash, where inaccurate Tigers couldn’t handle Waratah under the Saturday night lights. Last time they met back in Round 9, Waratah snuck home by four points where both sides struggled with goal accuracy. We recommend clearing your schedule for next weekend.

All other divisions entering finals will have their fixtures uploaded to the PlayHQ Website after the completion of Round 18.
