AFL Northern Territory (AFLNT) would like to advise that this weekend’s TIO NTFL Premier League matches between the Tiwi Bombers Football Club and Waratah Football Club will be moved to TIO Stadium, Darwin.
After an inspection on Sunday 5 November, the playing surface at Wurrumiyanga (Stanley Tipiloura Oval) was found not to be currently fit to play matches on. AFLNT will continue to monitor the preparations of the ground for upcoming rounds at Wurrumiyanga.
Leigh Elder, AFLNT Community Football Manager said “Playing matches at Wurrumiyanga is a highlight of the TIO NTFL fixture for not only the players and support staff but the wider Tiwi community.
We are disappointed to not have the opportunity to play there this weekend, but we will continue to work with stakeholders on making every effort to ensure the ground is ready for upcoming fixtured matches.”
