Round One – 2023/24 TIO NTFL Season

ROUND1

AFL Northern Territory is pleased to provide a preview look into Round One of the 2023/24 TIO NTFL Season fixture.

All clubs will play at TIO Stadium in Round One, with games commencing Friday night and matches on Saturday from 10 am onwards.

Officially kicking off the 2023/24 TIO NTFL season will be a Women’s Premier League matchup between, Southern Districts and Waratah at 6:00 pm on Friday 6 October, followed by the highly anticipated Grand Final re-match between Southern Districts and Waratah at the home of Territory Footy, TIO Stadium.

Modern day-rivals St Mary’s and Nightcliff will play the marquee match on Saturday evening. With match-ups between Palmerston and Wanderers, and Darwin Buffaloes and PINT which is set to be a great contest of footy.

Head of AFL Northern Territory, Sam Gibson said the Round One fixture gets the home and away season off to a flyer.

“We are always aiming to get our season off to a great start, with traditional rivalries, and the Men’s Premier League Grand Final rematch on Friday night, it gives the competition the best opportunity to kickstart the 2023 season,”

“It’s been a big year and come Round One the anticipation for the return of top-end football will bring TIO Stadium to life once again”.

Head of TIO Operations, Margaret Pratten looks forward to the 2023/24 TIO NTFL season ahead “TIO has been supporting football in the Territory for over 30 years. AFL is a big part of life in the NT, it brings the community together and we are looking forward to having multiple generations of families in the stands at TIO Stadium for another exciting season.”

The senior fixture, round information, match-ups, and venues for the remainder of the 2023/24 TIO NTFL Premier League Season will be released on Monday 18 September via aflnt.com.au.
