AFLW star Courtney Wakefield dominated the Darwin Buffettes-Palmerston Women's Premier League clash at Cazalys Arena in Palmerston.

In a game where all the skills of women's football were constantly on show, a seven-goal haul from the former Richmond forward steered the Buffettes to a 9.2 (56) to 4.2 (26) win.

Lucy Louis across half-back with several forays forward producing two goals was another good player for the Buffettes, along with the consistent Molly Althouse in the ruck.

Buffettes coach Mel Taylor was impressed with Palmerston's positive approach to the match and the number of junior players elevated to senior football in both lineups.

"They definitely took the game up to us in a match where we debuted another three players and of course, Courtney Wakefield's seven goals were a big plus for us,'' Taylor said.

Tinalia Miller from Daly Waters and Big Rivers club Eastside and Liz Watkins were other debutants for the Buffettes in their second win of the new season after a big loss to reigning premier PINT in the opening round.

Palmerston young gun Marika Carlton was again an outstanding performer for the Magpies, kicking four goals from a wing and displaying some great skills in the air and on the ground.

PINT coach Rick Nolan is already focussing on Friday night's clash of the unbeaten sides when his Queenants meet the high-flying St Mary's at Marrara's DXC Arena.

PINT comfortably beat the young Southern Districts side on Saturday, Stella Ajani on a wing and the reliable Reni Hicks starring through the middle of the ground.

Steph Lawrence benefitted from the amount of football coming towards her by booting seven goals and Amy Chittick and Chloe McDonald were effective ball users.

Popular skipper Cassie Henderson played her 150th game in a Queenants jumper, kicking two goals in what could be her farewell to the WPL.

Nolan tested his players' ability to play at both ends of the ground as the game progressed, with a firm eye on the clash with the high-flying Saints under lights as to where his side sits this season.

"We've been pretty good to this stage, but we'll see exactly where we are against Saints this week,'' he said.

Nightcliff continued its high scoring by booting another 21 goals against the Tiwi Bombers, winning Saturday night's Round 4 clash by 131 points to move to third on the WPL ladder.

The Tigers had seven goalkickers in their 21.14 (140) to 1.3 (9) win over the Bombers, with their captain Mickayla Ward booting five goals, and Gabrielle Deller four.

Best on ground Maighan Fogas and Sophie Berry kicked three goals as the Tigers built on a six-goal to nil first quarter that set up the big win.

The record books again took a battering in Sunday's game at TIO Stadium where a classy St Mary's beat the winless Wanderers by 252 points.

The Ryan Smith-coached Saints looked on track to beat Nightcliff's league record 40.16 (256) set only a week ago when they kicked 27 goals in the first two quarters.

But some courageous defending by the young Eagles did enough to restrict their opponent's free-flowing game in the second half when the green and gold jumpers fell four points short of a record score.

But the big win saw them leapfrog reigning premier PINT into the top position on the ladder, courtesy of a giant 924 percentage points.

The Saints had 13 goalkickers share the 40 goals, including Emma Stark who took her goal tally to 29 in four games after booting a bag of 10, Jemma Iacono finished with five goals and Amelia Kahr and Grace Senior booted four each.
