2023 Cazalys NTFL Representative Teams Announced

TeamSelection

The final team lists have been announced ahead of this weekend's 2023 Cazalys NTFL Representative Games against South Fremantle and the Claremont Tigers.

Head Coach Anthony Vallejo’s men’s side features an impressive spread of skilled players from across the Top End while Melinda Taylor’s women’s side has a worthy mix of both experienced and young and upcoming stars.

On Thursday at the guernsey presentation event, Men’s Representative Captain Braedon McLean said, “It’s a really talented bunch this year, and I’m looking forward to playing with a few ex-AFL players as well.”

Head coach of the Men’s Representative side, Anthony Vallejo shares “We’ve got really talented group of players, 12 (players) from last year so we’ve got a bit of experience going into it - we’re expecting a pretty hard contest early”

President of the South Fremantle Football Club, Peter Christie said on Thursday “We will be fielding a young squad on Saturday, we’re a no excuse footy club and we’re playing to win, I can assure you of that”

The women representing the Territory on Sunday afternoon will include a swift mix of experienced players including Jemma Iacono, Mickayla Ward, Tikesa Docherty-Cole and Jasmyn Hewett alongside current NT Academy players who form some of the league’s best up-and-coming talent.

Melinda Taylor praised her side “We had a great ending to our session last night, and tomorrow night we’ll pump them up further. The ladies that we have are the best of the best, I don’t have to do much – other than move some magnets”.
