Morris' Match Preview - 2022 Cazalys Women's Representative Game

NTFL women's coach Jarred Ilett says pride in the jumper and plenty of passion will be big assets for the representative side when they tackle Woodville-West Torrens in Saturday's interstate clash.

Lisa Roberts and Bella Clarke have been named joint captains for the 4pm clash at TIO Stadium as the women's side aims for back-to-back wins against SANFL opposition.

"We're not here to just participate and make up the numbers, we want to get a job done and represent the Territory the way it needs to be, with a win,'' he said.

"That was put to the squad from the very first training night and we're keen to make it happen against the Eagles.''

Ilett has watched women's football in the NT reach a new level in the last three seasons, with young guns Jnoemi Anderson, Ciaralii Parnell, Annabel Kievit and Grace Whittaker among its rising stars.

He has done some homework on the visitors, who will have Centralian Jordan Hickey in their playing ranks as a key forward option.

"We do know they'll have a relatively tall side, but it's important in our case that we get the balance right and players in the right spot so the side can play to its strengths,'' Ilett added.

Woodville-West Torrens coach Narelle Smith is no stranger to Territory football after her past involvement in the Thunder program and an assistant role with the Adelaide Crows' AFLW side.

Smith's knowledge of the Territory game includes fast ball movement and leg speed, areas of the game the Eagles players will have to adapt to in a hurry.

"With my past affiliation with the Territory players through my coaching at Thunder and the Crows, I know a lot of the players up there,'' she told the AFLNT website.

"With so much talent floating around up there will be plenty of amazing quick and smart players we'll have to deal with and that's going to be a big challenge.

''We've got a couple of talls and lots of smalls, which in terms of the weather where we'll probably get rained on, isn't a bad move, so the girls will have to play some wet weather footy.''

The Eagles have Crows listed forward McKenzie Dowrick in their ranks after starting with them before the Crows picked her up when an inactive list spot opened up.

Hickey has just come off the Gold Coast's list and will be an important factor in Smith's pre-match planning and her ability to communicate to the Eagles players the intricacies of Territory football.
