Ahead of Saturday’s Cazalys NTFL Men’s and Women’s representative matches at TIO Stadium in Darwin, key game day details have been confirmed.

Kicking off the day, the best of the TIO NTFL Women’s Premier League will run out against Woodville West Torrens’s at 4.00pm and later, the Men will play from 6.30pm.

There will be plenty of action happening around the ground with media personality Sarah Passalick as MC for the day, helping create a bustling and exciting atmosphere around the stadium. Spectators will also experience a traditional welcome to country by Richard Fejo ahead of the men’s clash accompanied by Les Huddleston on the Didgeridoo.

The final Men’s and Women’s playing team selections will be confirmed on Thursday while the RMI Security Representative Umpiring Squad has been announced today.

AFLNT Umpiring Coordinator, Andrew Wainwright has been working closely with the umpiring coaches this season across all three disciplines, field, boundary and goals to ensure that the umpires that have been committed and professional will be duly rewarded for their efforts and representative game selection.

“This NTFL season the umpiring cohort has been affected by COVID-19 although this has created positive outcomes,” Wainwright said.

“The unavailability of some umpires has given the young up and coming talented umpires the opportunity to adjudicate in higher NTFL grades and therefore, becoming eligible for representative selection.

“Recently we have seen heightened competitiveness and drive among the umpires in attempt to gain selection for the rep games. We are fortunate to have a strong squad selected for one of the umpiring highlights of the year.

“The coaches and I have engaged in rigorous discussions in attempt to determine to the best combination for both games with final selection being announced at Thursday night’s training.”
