PINT stands alone at the top of the Women's Premier League ladder after a comprehensive dismissal of the previously unbeaten Waratah at Marrara Cricket Ground.

The clash of the unbeaten sides turned into a runaway win for the Queenants on a day when their forward line clicked and their defence held the highly rated Waratah forward line to just four goals.

Tah's were not helped by the loss of key duo Annabel Kievit and Lisa Roberts early in the game and struggled for consistency around the ground against a PINT side intent on making the football their No.1 target.

Jayla Hunt's performance through the midfield was phenomenal for PINT in just her second season of senior football, her ability to find the football and drive it forward was a big catalyst in the Queenants' 11.6 (72) to 4.3 (27) win.

Hunt and three-goal forward Amy Chittick, playing against her old side, were the best for PINT, along with Akayla Peterson on a wing.

St Mary's won their fifth game in a row by upsetting reigning premier Darwin Buffettes at TIO Stadium.

The Saints won the game in the first half when they kicked six goals to one, including a first-quarter blast of four goals to nothing that gave them a fast start.

Coach Paul Magher said beating the Buffettes was the culmination of a good month of football at the club.

"We knew where we were at in terms of goals and what we had to do to get there,'' Magher said. "We also knew the Buffettes would be hard at it being the reigning premier and the players responded very well.''

St Mary's had a consistent spread of good players, including Cassie Davison from Peel Thunder, Jo Miller, Tikesa Docherty-Cole and Jemma Iacono.

Their 7.4 (46) to 3.6 (24) win at league headquarters lifted them to third position, one game ahead of a chasing pack that includes the Buffettes, who have lost three straight to slip to fifth on the WPL ladder.

Nightcliff leapt into fourth spot on the league table with a comprehensive 76-point win over an inexperienced Wanderers side at TIO Stadium's No.2 oval.

Cassie McWilliams' five goals made her an important player in the Tigers' fourth win of the season, while Gigi Dadds and key utility Mickayla Ward were other good performers.

And the Palmerston Magpies overcame a sloppy start in wet conditions at Norbuilt Oval to beat the home side Southern Districts by seven points.

It was the Magpies' third win in eight starts, a victory made all the sweeter by the side's ability to come from behind after failing to kick a goal in the first quarter.

Mesapa Frank, Tatyana Perry and Daysia Creed-Wray were the pick of the Magpie women who left the ground to thunderous applause from their fans.
