2021/22 TIO NTFL MRP Finals Week 2

AFL Northern Territory (AFLNT) wishes to advise the Match Review Panel (MRP) has reviewed all matches played in Finals Week 2 of the 2021/22 TIO NTFL season, and the following charges have been laid:

Men’s Division 2

Shannon Burton of Banks Football Club has been charged with striking against #24 of Jabiru Football Club in the fourth quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Division 2 match between Banks and Jabiru at TIO Oval 2 on Saturday 5 March 2022.

Based on the evidence available, it was the view of the MRP that the incident should be classified as intentional conduct, medium impact and high contact, resulting in a three-match penalty. 

In summary, Burton can accept a two-match penalty with an early guilty plea.

Blake Larson of Jabiru Football Club has been charged with striking against #21 of Banks Football Club after the TIO NTFL Men’s Division 2 match between Banks and Jabiru at TIO Oval 2 on Saturday 5 March 2022.

Based on the evidence available, it was the view of the MRP that the incident should be classified as intentional conduct, medium impact and high contact, resulting in a three-match penalty. 

In summary, Larson can accept a two-match penalty with an early guilty plea.

The club/players via the club's tribunal advocate have until 9:00pm tonight (Tuesday) to accept the early plea or lodge an appeal to have the matter heard by an independent Tribunal.

AFLNT will only issue a further update if the club/player chooses to challenge at Tribunal.
