2021/22 TIO NTFL MRP Round 12

MRP

AFL Northern Territory (AFLNT) wishes to advise the Match Review Panel (MRP) has reviewed all matches played in Round 12 of the 2021/22 TIO NTFL season, and the following charges have been laid:

Men’s Premier League

Sylvani Babui of Tiwi Bombers Football Club has been charged with threatening behaviour towards an umpire in the third and fourth quarters of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Tiwi Bombers and Nightcliff Football Club at Wurrumiyanga Oval on Saturday 18 December 2021.

Based on the evidence available, it was the view of the MRP that the incidents should be referred straight to the independent Tribunal. 

Adrian McAdam of Tiwi Bombers Football Club has been charged with insulting language towards an umpire in the fourth quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Tiwi Bombers and Nightcliff Football Club at Wurrumiyanga Oval on Saturday 18 December 2021.

Based on the evidence available, it was the view of the MRP that the incident should be classified as intentional conduct and insulting, resulting in a two-match penalty.

In summary, McAdam can accept a one-match penalty with an early guilty plea.

Brenton Motlop of Wanderers Football Club has been charged with rough conduct against #9 of Waratah Football Club in the fourth quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Wanderers and Waratah at Tracy Village Oval on Sunday 19 December 2021.

Based on the evidence available, it was the view of the MRP that the incident should be classified as intentional conduct, low impact and high contact, resulting in a two-match penalty.

In summary, Motlop can accept a one-match penalty with an early guilty plea.

Jerome Motlop of Wanderers Football Club has been charged with rough conduct against #9 of Waratah Football Club in the fourth quarter time of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Wanderers and Waratah at Tracy Village Oval on Sunday 19 December 2021.

Based on the evidence available, it was the view of the MRP that the incident should be classified as intentional conduct, low impact and high contact, resulting in a two-match penalty.

In summary, Motlop can accept a one-match penalty with an early guilty plea.
 
Wanderers Football Club and Wararah Football Club have been charged with engaging in a melee in the fourth quarter of the TIO NTFL match between Wanderers and Waratah at Tracy Village Oval on Sunday 19 December 2021.

In summary, Wanderers can accept a $750 fine and Waratah can accept a $600 fine with an early guilty plea.

Men’s Division 1 – Round 11

Deacon Braun of Wanderers Football Club has been charged with using abusive, insulting or obscene language towards or in relation to an umpire in the fourth quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Division 1 match between Banks Football Club and Wanderers at TIO Stadium on Saturday 11 December 2021.

Based on the evidence available, it was the view of the MRP that the incident should be classified as intentional conduct, threatening or obscene language heard from 50 metres away. It was the view of the MRP that the incident should be referred straight to the independent Tribunal.

The club/players via the club's tribunal advocate have until 9:00pm tonight (Tuesday) to accept the early plea or lodge an appeal to have the matter heard by an independent Tribunal.

UPDATE:

Deacon Braun of Wanderers Football Club’s Round 11 case will be heard by the independent Tribunal. 

Adrian McAdam of Tiwi Bombers Football Club, Brenton Motlop and Jerome Motlop of Wanderers Football Club have accepted their Round 12 early guilty pleas.
 
Sylvani Babui of Tiwi Bombers Football Club’s cases have been deferred at the request of the club due to the unavailability of their Club Advocate. 

The matter has been deferred and will be heard by the AFLNT Tribunal next year after Round 13. 

Until the matter is adjudicated by the Tribunal, Babui is not eligible to play or officiate in a competition.
