2020/21 TIO NTFL MRP – Round 16

AFL Northern Territory (AFLNT) wishes to advise the Match Review Panel (MRP) has reviewed all matches played in Round 16 of the 2020/21 TIO NTFL season, and the following charges have been laid:

Women’s Premier League

Iesha Ronberg of Palmerston Magpies Football Club has been charged with rough conduct in the second quarter of the TIO NTFL Women’s Premier League match between Nightcliff Football Club and Palmerston Magpies at Darwin Mazda Nightcliff Oval on Saturday 6 February 2021.

Based on the evidence available, it was the view of the MRP that the incident should be classified as intentional conduct, low impact and body contact, resulting in a one-match penalty.

In summary, Ronberg can accept a reprimand with an early guilty plea.

Men’s Division 1

Thomas Long of St Mary’s Football Club has been charged with striking number 16 of Waratah Football Club in the fourth quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Division 1 match between Waratah and St Mary’s at Gardens Oval on Sunday 7 February 2021.

Based on the evidence available, it was the view of the MRP that the incident should be classified as intentional conduct, low impact and body contact, resulting in a one-match penalty.

In summary, Long can accept a reprimand with an early guilty plea.

Men’s Division 2

Thomas Fittock of Southern Districts Football Club has been charged with striking number 34 from Tracy Village Football Club in the third quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Division 2 match between Tracy Village and Southern Districts at TIO Oval 2 on Saturday 6 February 2021.

Based on the evidence available, it was the view of the MRP that the incident should be classified as intentional conduct, low impact and body contact, resulting in a one-match penalty.

In summary, Fittock can accept a reprimand with an early guilty plea.

Patrick Hanley, coach of Tracy Village Football Club has been charged with misconduct in the fourth quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Division 2 match between Tracy Village and Southern Districts Football Club at TIO Oval 2 on Saturday 6 February 2021.

Based on the evidence available, it was the view of the MRP that the incident should be classified as a low-level offence resulting in a one-match penalty.

In summary, Hanley can accept a reprimand with an early guilty plea.

The clubs/players via the club's tribunal advocate has until 9:00pm tonight (Tuesday) to accept the early plea or lodge an appeal to have the matter heard by an independent Tribunal.
