St Philips College crowned 2020 Alice Springs School Girls Comp Premiers

2020 Alice Springs School Girls Competition Premiers

On Tuesday, AFLNT held its annual Alice Springs School Girls Competition Grand Final which saw the minor premiers, St Philips College battle it out with a newly created team consisting of players across St Josephs and Santa Teresa.

The match started strong right from the first bounce! St Philips came out firing in the first quarter booting three goals to St Joseph’s/Santa Teresas one goal. The second quarter was a tough battle between the teams, with St Philips showing excellent skills and teamwork.

The second half proved to be a great contest as St Joseph’s/Santa Teresa girls made their mark on the match with amazing pressure and run and carry. The final quarter belonged to St Philips though as their accuracy in front of goal was enough to run over the top of St Joseph’s/Santa Teresa.

It was a great display of talent and a fitting way to finish off the School Girls Competition season with St Philips College 10.8.68 defeating St Joseph’s/Santa Teresa 7.2.44 to be crowned the 2020 premiers!

St Philips' Armani Francois saw her efforts rewarded with the best on ground medal.

AFLNT would like to thank all Schools, students, volunteers, and helpers for their assistance on another successful School Girls Competition. We look forward to working with you all in 2021!
