Nightcliff celebration shot

AFL Northern Territory (AFLNT) and the NT News have come together in a partnership to live stream Men’s Premier League games for the 2020/21 TIO NTFL season.

The partnership has been sealed in time for the historic match and season opener under the new lights at Gardens Oval tomorrow night.

“For many years AFLNT has built a solid reputation for capturing and live-streaming our Men’s Premier League competition in the TIO NTFL – we’re excited about this next stage of our development to involve the NT News as a partner,” AFLNT CEO Stuart Totham said.

“This is an opportunity for not only NT News subscribers to gain exclusive access to fantastic games but also sets the foundations for a better commercial return to our game.

“We believe this will be a genuine value-add to not only our existing market in the Northern Territory, but we’re looking to new horizons and hopefully new audiences that can experience the best community football league in the country.

“In announcing this partnership, we are maintaining our existing broadcast arrangements with long-time partners NITV and ABC Radio and taking it to the next level."

NT News editor Matt Williams said the partnership was a coup.

"To kick off live-streaming, tomorrow's historic game at Gardens Oval is a fantastic way to start this new partnership which will be great for both NT News subscribers and AFLNT."

People with an NT News subscription will have access to Men's Premier League games with the games then posted to the AFLNTv YouTube channel for public viewing 24 hours after their scheduled start time.

AFLNT’s own NTFL members will get access to the NT News subscription service, which includes access to the live-streaming amongst other great content. Details of this will be announced shortly.

As in previous seasons, AFLNT's long-term broadcast partner, ABC Radio Darwin will call one Saturday game from TIO Stadium each round. Fans can tune-in live via the ABC listen app.

The support of the National Indigenous Television (NITV) also continues in 2020/21; with NITV to broadcast one game per round to a national audience. The first three rounds of the home and away season will be replayed at 1pm on Sunday before moving to a Tuesday night timeslot.

Any non-Premier League games (Division 1, Women's Premier League) will remain live via the AFLNTv YouTube channel.

AFLNT thanks KIK Digital for its filming and production support in delivering the live-streaming and broadcast coverage of all its games.
