The Tiwi Bombers Football Club tonight announced that supporting Jamie Scrymgour and Shane Tipuamantumirri in their roles as NTFL Men’s Premier League coaches will be newly appointed assistant coaches, Cyril Rioli Jnr and Brenton Toy.

With Scrymgour and Tipuamantumirri both based on Melville Island, Rioli and Toy will help coach and facilitate from Darwin, where the majority of the club’s games are played. More coaching announcements are due in the next few days.

General Manager of the Tiwi Bombers FC, Leigh Crossman said there was a real buzz about the club that they would look to build on as the season drew closer.

“We are really pleased to have Brenton back. We were always open and honest about wanting him to be part of finishing what we started two years ago and were always confident he would see it through. He has proven success and will be a great mentor to Jamie and Shane.

“Cyril needs no introduction; his football resume speaks for itself! His inclusion as our runner at the back end of last season was exciting, but this appointment today changes the narrative for the Tiwi Bombers. Junior takes a keen interest in developing our players both on and off the field, he has plenty beyond his football experience to contribute to the role.

“This is an exhilarating time to be part of the Tiwi Bombers; new players, new coaches, new sponsors - Bush Fit Mob, Anindilyyakwa Land Council and plenty of support from the community,” he said.
