Weatherald to chair Chaney Medal panel

2017/18 Chaney Medal

Newly appointed NT Thunder VFL Women’s coach, and 2002 SANFL Magarey Medallist, Tim Weatherald has been named the chairman of the five-person panel that will decide the 2017/18 Chaney Medal.

Joining Weatherald to judge the best on ground in Wednesday night's TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League Grand Final between Darwin Buffaloes and Southern Districts is AFLNT Team of the Century coach, John "KJ" Taylor, Waratah Women’s Premiership winning coach and AFLNT board member, Colleen Gwynne and renowned NTFL media figures, Charlie King and Grey Morris.

Each panellist will vote 3-2-1 for three separate players they believe had the greatest positive impact on the game.

The Chaney Medal cannot be shared between two players.

In the event of a tie, the player with the most number of three votes will be declared the winner.

If it is still locked, then the player with the most number of two votes will win.

If still unbroken, then the votes cast by Weatherald, as the chairman of the panel, will break the tie.
