Tai Martin-Page to attend TIO NTFL Grand Final

AFL Northern Territory (AFLNT) and Darwin Buffaloes Football Club are looking forward to welcoming Tai Martin-Page to the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League Grand Final this Saturday.

Off the back of his initiative, Tai and his mum, Bridgit Martin will make the trip from Adelaide to Darwin to see the Darwin Buffaloes contest its first TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League grand final since winning the 2005/06 title.

Tai has been at the Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre for the past six weeks and has begun his rehab program and physiotherapy treatment for the spinal injury he sustained while playing in the Buffaloes Round 12 clash against Wanderers.

The trip is possible due to the support of the generous Darwin community, especially St John’s ambulance.

Darwin Buffaloes Head Coach Matt Campbell said having Tai’s support added to the excitement and build up, but the players remained focused on the task ahead.

“We are fortunate to have such vocal, proud Buffs supporters cheer us on at every game, and I’m sure Tai will be right at home amongst the many others that hand out their coaching tips to me during the game.

“It’s just another testament to the type of guy that Tai is that he’s willing to make the difficult trip up here. The players are excited to have him along but know he’d want them to get the win first and foremost, so we’ll be keeping our attention on that,” Campbell said.

Understandably there will be media and public interest in Tai’s impending visit, and official opportunities will be advised in the coming days.
