AFL Northern Territory (AFLNT) advises the independent Tribunal sat tonight, Wednesday 31 October, to hear one charge from Round 4 of the senior division TIO NTFL games.
Ben Gunn, of University Football Club, appeared before the Tribunal to answer two charges; first of abusive behaviour towards an umpire, and second of spitting at or on an umpire, in the fourth quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Division 2 match between Waratah Football Club and University at TIO Oval 2 on Saturday 27 October 2018.
Gunn pleaded guilty to the first charge of abusive behaviour towards an umpire and was issued with a three-match suspension.
He then pleaded not guilty to the charge of spitting at or on an umpire and was found not guilty.
In summary, Gunn will serve a three-match penalty.
