Match Review Panel Round 6

AFL Northern Territory (AFLNT) wishes to advise the Match Review Panel has reviewed all matches played in Round 6 of the 2018/19 TIO NTFL season.

The following charges have been laid in the senior divisions:

Men’s Premier League

Matthew Dennis, of Palmerston Football Club, has been charged with engaging in rough conduct against player number 10 of Wanderers Football Club in the second quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Wanderers and Palmerston at TIO Stadium on Saturday 10 November 2018.

Based on the umpire’s report and video evidence available, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be classified as intentional conduct, low impact and body contact, resulting in a one-match penalty. 

In summary, Dennis can accept a reprimand as an early guilty plea. 

Mitch Bunworth, of Palmerston Football Club, has been charged with kneeing player number 12 of Wanderers Football Club in the second quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Wanderers and Palmerston at TIO Stadium on Saturday 10 November 2018.

Based on the umpire’s report and video evidence available, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be classified as intentional conduct, low impact and high contact, resulting in a two-match penalty. 

In summary, Bunworth can accept a one-match suspension as an early guilty plea.

Nook Mansell, of Wanderers Football Club, has been charged with striking player number 16 of Palmerston Football Club in the third quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Wanderers and Palmerston at TIO Stadium on Saturday 10 November 2018.

Based on the umpire’s report and video evidence available, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be classified as intentional conduct, low impact and body contact, resulting in a one-match penalty. 

In summary, Mansell can accept a reprimand as an early guilty plea.

Men’s Division 1

Micheal Kotis, of St Mary’s Football Club, has been charged with striking player number 19 of PINT Football Club in the second quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Division 1 match between St Mary’s and PINT at Gardens Oval 2 on Sunday 11 November 2018.

Based on the umpire’s report, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be classified as intentional conduct, low impact and high contact, resulting in a two-match penalty. 

In summary, Kotis can accept a one-match suspension as an early guilty plea.

Other charges assessed

Men’s Premier League - Round 5

The umpire’s referral against Justin Beugelaar, of Waratah Football Club for prohibited contact in the third quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Waratah and St Mary's was dismissed by the MRP.
