AFL Northern Territory is proud to launch a new theme for the 2017/18 TIO NTFL Season – Show Your True Colours.
The launch was held Wednesday 4th October at the Michael Long Learning and Leadership Centre with representatives from each club present for the official opening of the season.
AFLNT Chief Operating Officer Stu Totham says ‘the Show Your True Colours theme is our way of recognising how important the fans are to the NTFL competition.'
‘We think this campaign will create a sense of comradery and pride within clubs and teams and hopefully generate a little bit of extra healthy rivalry’ he said.
‘The upcoming NTFL season is exciting with 104 teams registered this year which will see 48 games played each weekend and shows how strong our game is.’
Round 1 kicks off this Friday night with the opening game of Men’s Premier League being played under lights at Asbuild Oval between Palmerston and Wanderers.
This is followed by a double header at TIO Stadium on Saturday featuring Southern Districts vs Tiwi Bombers then the much anticipated clash between Nightcliff and St Mary’s. Two women’s Premier League games will also be played between Southern Districts and Darwin Buffettes and Nightcliff and Wanderers.
Darwin Buffaloes vs Waratah finishes the Premier League round on Sunday at TIO Stadium along with remaining Women’s Premier League games between St Mary’s and Waratah and Palmerston and PINT.
