2021/22 TIO NTFL MRP Round 17

MRP

AFL Northern Territory (AFLNT) wishes to advise the Match Review Panel (MRP) has reviewed all matches played in Round 17 of the 2021/22 TIO NTFL season, and the following charges have been laid:

Men’s Premier League

James Munro of Waratah Football Club has been charged with striking #9 of Darwin Buffaloes Football Club in the second quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Darwin Buffaloes and Waratah at TIO Stadium on Saturday 12 February 2022.

Based on the evidence available, it was the view of the MRP that the incident should be classified as intentional conduct, low impact and body contact, resulting in a one-match penalty. 

In summary, Munro can accept a reprimand with an early guilty plea.
 
Cameron Stokes, Coach of Darwin Buffaloes Football Club has been charged with serious misconduct in the second quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Darwin Buffaloes and Waratah at TIO Stadium on Saturday 12 February 2022.

Based on the evidence available, it was the view of the panel that the incidents should be referred directly to the Tribunal.
 
Jarrod Stokes of Darwin Buffaloes Football Club has been charged with serious misconduct at half time of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Darwin Buffaloes and Waratah at TIO Stadium on Saturday 12 February 2022.

Based on the evidence available, it was the view of the panel that the incidents should be referred directly to the Tribunal.
 
Steven Hayes, runner of Darwin Buffaloes Football Club has been charged with using abusive or obscene language at half time of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Darwin Buffaloes and Waratah at TIO Stadium on Saturday 12 February 2022.

Based on the evidence available, it was the view of the MRP that the incident should be classified as audible 10-50 metres away, resulting in a two-match penalty. 

In summary, Hayes can accept a one-match penalty with an early guilty plea.
 
Hassan Ahmat-Watkins of Darwin Buffaloes Football Club has been charged with using insulting language at half time of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Darwin Buffaloes and Waratah at TIO Stadium on Saturday 12 February 2022.

Based on the evidence available, it was the view of the MRP that the incident should be classified as audible 50+ metres away, resulting in a two-match penalty. 

In summary, Ahmat-Watkins can accept a one-match penalty with an early guilty plea.
 
William Collis of Waratah Football Club has been charged with rough conduct against #17 of Darwin Buffaloes Football Club in the third quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Darwin Buffaloes and Waratah at TIO Stadium on Saturday 12 February 2022.

Based on the evidence available, it was the view of the MRP that the incident should be classified as intentional conduct, medium impact and body contact, resulting in a two-match penalty. 

In summary, Collis can accept a one-match penalty with an early guilty plea.
 
Adam Sambono of Darwin Buffaloes Football Club has been charged with striking #9 of Waratah Football Club in the fourth quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Darwin Buffaloes and Waratah at TIO Stadium on Saturday 12 February 2022.

Based on the evidence available, it was the view of the MRP that the incident should be classified as intentional conduct, low impact and high contact, resulting in a two-match penalty. 

In summary, Sambono can accept a one-match penalty with an early guilty plea.
 
Murray Liddle of Palmerston Magpies Football Club has been charged with using abusive, insulting, threatening or obscene behaviour towards an umpire in the third quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Palmerston Magpies and Wanderers at Cazalys Arena on Saturday 12 February 2022.

Liddle has also been charged twice with using abusive, insulting or obscene language towards an umpire in the third quarter.
 
Based on the evidence available, it was the view of the panel that the incidents should be referred directly to the Tribunal.
 
Desmond Corbett of Palmerston Magpies Football Club has been charged with disputing an umpire’s decision in the fourth quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Palmerston Magpies and Wanderers at Cazalys Arena on Saturday 12 February 2022.
 
Based on the evidence available, it was the view of the MRP that the incident should be classified as a low-level offence, resulting in a one-match penalty.
 
In summary, Corbett can accept a reprimand with an early guilty plea.
 
Corbett was also charged with engaging in an act of serious misconduct after the match.
 
Based on the evidence available, it was the view of the panel that the incidents should be referred directly to the Tribunal.
 
Women’s Premier League

Tonya Norris of Palmerston Magpies Football Club has been charged with rough conduct against #22 of Wanderers Football Club in the fourth quarter of the TIO NTFL Women’s Premier League match between Palmerston Magpies and Wanderers at Cazalys Arena on Saturday 12 February 2022.
 
Based on the evidence available, it was the view of the MRP that the incident should be classified as intentional conduct, low impact and high contact, resulting in a two-match penalty. 

In summary, Norris can accept a one-match penalty with an early guilty plea.
 
Leticha Lloyd of Wanderers Football Club has been charged with charging #19 of Palmerston Magpies Football Club in the fourth quarter of the TIO NTFL Women’s Premier League match between Palmerston Magpies and Wanderers at Cazalys Arena on Saturday 12 February 2022.
 
Based on the evidence available, it was the view of the MRP that the incident should be classified as intentional conduct, medium impact and body contact, resulting in a two-match penalty. 

In summary, Lloyd can accept a one-match penalty with an early guilty plea.
 
Jeff Lloyd, water carrier of Wanderers Football Club has been charged with serious misconduct in the fourth quarter of the TIO NTFL Women’s Premier League match between Palmerston Magpies and Wanderers at Cazalys Arena on Saturday 12 February 2022.
 
Based on the evidence available, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be referred directly to the Tribunal.
 
Shanoa Leedie of Palmerston Magpies Football Club has been charged with rough conduct against #13 of Wanderers Football Club in the fourth quarter of the TIO NTFL Women’s Premier League match between Palmerston Magpies and Wanderers at Cazalys Arena on Saturday 12 February 2022.
 
Based on the evidence available, it was the view of the MRP that the incident should be classified as intentional conduct, medium impact and high contact, resulting in a three-match penalty. 

In summary, Leedie can accept a two-match penalty with an early guilty plea.
 
Taneisha Wilson of Palmerston Magpies Football Club has been charged with rough conduct against #13 of Wanderers Football Club in the fourth quarter of the TIO NTFL Women’s Premier League match between Palmerston Magpies and Wanderers at Cazalys Arena on Saturday 12 February 2022.
 
Based on the evidence available, it was the view of the MRP that the incident should be classified as intentional conduct, low impact and high contact, resulting in a two-match penalty. 

In summary, Wilson can accept a one-match penalty with an early guilty plea.

The club/players via the club's tribunal advocate have until 9:00pm tonight (Tuesday) to accept the early plea or lodge an appeal to have the matter heard by an independent Tribunal.

AFLNT will only issue a further update if the club/player chooses to challenge at Tribunal.
