2021/22 TIO NTFL MRP Round 10

MRP

AFL Northern Territory (AFLNT) wishes to advise the Match Review Panel (MRP) has reviewed all matches played in Round 10 of the 2021/22 TIO NTFL season, and the following charges have been laid:

Men’s Premier League

Aiden McAdam of Tiwi Bombers Football Club has been charged with striking #28 of Palmerston Magpies Football Club in half time of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Tiwi Bombers and Palmerston Magpies at TIO Stadium on Saturday 4 December 2021.

Based on the evidence available, it was the view of the MRP that the incident should be classified as intentional conduct, low impact and high contact, resulting in a two-match penalty.

In summary, McAdam can accept a one-match penalty with an early guilty plea.

Darren Shillabeer of Wanderers Football Club has been charged with striking #4 of Nightcliff Football Club in the third quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Nightcliff and Wanderers at Darwin Mazda Nightcliff Oval on Saturday 4 December 2021.

Based on the evidence available, it was the view of the MRP that the incident should be classified as intentional conduct, high impact and high contact, resulting in a four-match penalty.

In summary, Shillabeer can accept a three-match penalty with an early guilty plea.

Mitchell Taylor of Wanderers Football Club has been charged with striking #28 of Nightcliff Football Club at three quarter time of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Nightcliff and Wanderers at Darwin Mazda Nightcliff Oval on Saturday 4 December 2021.

Based on the evidence available, it was the view of the MRP that the incident should be classified as intentional conduct, low impact and high contact, resulting in a two-match penalty.

In summary, Taylor can accept a one-match penalty with an early guilty plea.

Josiah Farrer of Southern Districts Football Club has been charged with striking #16 of Waratah Football Club in the fourth quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Waratah and Southern Districts at Gardens Oval on Saturday 4 December 2021.

Based on the evidence available, it was the view of the MRP that the incident should be classified as intentional conduct, low impact and high contact, resulting in a two-match penalty.

In summary, Farrer can accept a one-match penalty with an early guilty plea.

Nathaniel Paredes of St Mary’s Football Club has been charged with striking #17 of Darwin Buffaloes Football Club at the fourth quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between St Mary’s and Darwin Buffaloes at TIO Stadium on Sunday 5 December 2021.

Based on the evidence available, it was the view of the MRP that the incident should be classified as intentional conduct, low impact and body contact, resulting in a one-match penalty.

In summary, Paredes can accept a reprimand with an early guilty plea.

Women’s Premier League 
 
Tishara Devern of Wanderers Football Club has been charged with misconduct against #1 of Nightcliff Football Club in the fourth quarter of the TIO NTFL Women’s Premier League match between Nightcliff and Wanderers at Darwin Mazda Nightcliff Oval on Saturday 4 December 2021.

Based on the evidence available, it was the view of the MRP that the incident should be classified as a low level offence resulting in a one-match penalty.

In summary, Devern can accept a reprimand with an early guilty plea.

Men’s Division 2 

Lee English of Wanderers Football Club has been charged with striking #2 of Nightcliff at the fourth quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Division 2 match between Nightcliff and Wanderers at Darwin Mazda Nightcliff Oval on Saturday 4 December 2021.

Based on the evidence available, it was the view of the MRP that the incident should be classified as intentional conduct, medium impact and high contact, resulting in a three-match penalty.

In summary, English can accept a two-match penalty with an early guilty plea.

The club/players via the club's tribunal advocate have until 9:00pm tonight (Tuesday) to accept the early plea or lodge an appeal to have the matter heard by an independent Tribunal.

AFLNT will only issue a further update if the club/player chooses to challenge at Tribunal.  

UPDATE Wednesday 8 December:

Darren Shillabeer of Wanderers Football Club and Josiah Farrer of Southern Districts Football Club's cases will be heard at the Round 10 Independent Tribunal. 

Aiden McAdam of Tiwi Bombers Football Club, Mitchell Taylor of Wanderers Football Club, Nathaniel Paredes of St Mary’s Football Club, Tishara Devern of Wanderers Football Club and Lee English of Wanderers Football Club have accepted their Round 10 MRP early guilty pleas.
