NTFL Match Review Panel: Round 16

AFL Northern Territory (AFLNT) wishes to advise the Match Review Panel has reviewed all matches played in Round 16 of the 2017/18 TIO NTFL Season.



The following charges have been laid in the senior divisions:

MEN’S PREMIER LEAGUE

Keegan Dingo, of Southern Districts Football Club, has been charged with rough conduct on player number 6 of the Tiwi Bombers Football Club in the second quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Tiwi Bombers and Southern Districts at Tiwi Oval on Saturday 3rd February 2018.  

Based on the umpire’s report, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be classified as careless conduct, low impact and high contact and result in a one-match suspension.




Due to the player’s poor record in the last two years, the penalty was increased to a two-match suspension.



In summary, Dingo can accept a one-match penalty as an early guilty plea.
 

Patrick Heenan, of Tiwi Bombers Football Club, has been charged with rough conduct on player number 15 of the Southern Districts Football Club in the second quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Tiwi Bombers and Southern Districts at Tiwi Oval on Saturday 3rd February 2018.   

Based on the umpire’s report, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be classified as intentional conduct, low impact and high contact and result in a two-match suspension.






In summary, Heenan can accept a one-match penalty as an early guilty plea.
 

Cannis Tipuamantirmirri, of Tiwi Bombers Football Club, has been charged with behaving in an abusive, insulting, threatening or obscene manner towards or in relation to an Umpire in the fourth quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Tiwi Bombers and Southern Districts at Tiwi Oval on Saturday 3rd February 2018.  

It was the view of the panel that the matter be referred directly to the Tribunal. 


 

Steven Forrester, of St Mary’s Football Club, has been charged with rough conduct on player number 4 of the Nightcliff Football Club in the third quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between St Mary’s and Nightcliff at TIO Stadium on Saturday 3rd February 2018.   

Based on video evidence, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be classified as careless conduct, low impact and high contact and result in a one-match suspension.






In summary, Forrester can accept a reprimand as an early guilty plea
 

Ignatius Vallejo, of St Mary’s Football Club, has been charged with rough conduct on player number 6 of the Nightcliff Football Club in the fourth quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between St Mary’s and Nightcliff at TIO Stadium on Saturday 3rd February 2018.

Based on video evidence, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be classified as intentional conduct, low impact and high contact and result in a two-match suspension.





In summary, Vallejo can accept a one-match penalty as an early guilty plea.

MEN’S DIVISION 2

Michael Gurruwiwi, of Jabiru Bombers Football Club, has been charged with striking player number 11 of the Waratah Football Club in the fourth quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Division 2 match between Jabiru and Waratah at TIO Oval 2 on Saturday 3rd February 2018. 

Based on the umpire’s report, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be classified as intentional conduct, low impact and contact to the body and result in a one-match suspension.



In summary, Gurruwiwi can accept a reprimand as an early guilty plea.
  

TRIBUNAL


At this stage, Tribunal is set to sit on Wednesday 7th February 2018 from 6pm.
