AFL Northern Territory (AFLNT) advises the independent Tribunal will sit tonight, Wednesday 25 November, to hear four charges from the Match Review of Round 8 matches

Luke Kiel’s case will be heard first at 6pm, followed by Tayla Thorn, Leigh Mcwhirter, and Jarrod Stokes. The start times for the latter three cases will only be known as proceedings get underway. 

Jack Williams of St Mary’s Football Club, and David Duncan, club umpire for Darwin Buffaloes, both accepted their early guilty plea options.
 
Tribunal hearings

The independent Tribunal will hear the charges relating to;
Men’s Premier League

Luke Kiel of Southern Districts Football Club has been charged with rough conduct in the second quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Nightcliff Football Club and Southern Districts at Darwin Mazda Nightcliff Oval on Saturday 21 November 2020.

Based on the evidence available, it was the view of the MRP that the incident should be classified as intentional conduct, low impact and high contact, resulting in a two-match penalty.

Kiel was offered a one-match penalty with an early guilty plea but has opted to go to Tribunal.

Jarrod Stokes of Darwin Buffaloes Football Club has been charged with striking player number 7 from Waratah Football Club in the fourth quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Darwin Buffaloes and Waratah at TIO Stadium on Saturday 21 November 2020.

Based on the evidence available, it was the view of the MRP that the incident should be classified as intentional conduct, medium impact and body contact, resulting in a two-match penalty.

Stokes was offered a one-match penalty with an early guilty plea but has opted to go to Tribunal.

Women’s Premier League

Tayla Thorn of Southern Districts Football Club has been charged with rough conduct in the first quarter of the TIO NTFL Women’s Premier League match between Nightcliff Football Club and Southern Districts at Darwin Mazda Nightcliff Oval on Saturday 21 November 2020.

Based on the evidence available, it was the view of the MRP that the incident should be classified as careless conduct, high impact and high contact, resulting in a three-match penalty.

Thorn was offered a two-match penalty with an early guilty plea but has opted to go to Tribunal.

Men’s Division 1

Leigh Mcwhirter of Tracy Village Football Club has been charged with striking player number 20 from Waratah Football Club in the fourth quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Division 1 match between Waratah and Tracy Village at TIO Oval 2 on Saturday 21 November 2020.

Based on the evidence available, it was the view of the MRP that the incident should be classified as intentional conduct, medium impact and high contact, resulting in a three-match penalty.

Mcwhirter was offered a two-match penalty with an early guilty plea but has opted to go to Tribunal.
