TIO NTFL Match Review Panel

AFL Northern Territory (AFLNT) wishes to advise the Match Review Panel has reviewed all matches played in Round 14 of the 2018/19 TIO NTFL season and the following charges have been laid in the senior divisions: 

Men’s Premier League

Jerome Motlop, of Wanderers Football Club, has been charged with striking player number 27 of the St Mary’s Football Club in the fourth quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Wanderers and St Mary’s at TIO Stadium on Saturday 19 January 2019.

Based on the umpire’s report, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be classified as intentional conduct, low impact and body contact, resulting in a one-match penalty.

In summary, Motlop can accept a reprimand as an early guilty plea.

Daniel Bowles, of Nightcliff Football Club, has been charged with engaging in rough conduct against player number 26 of the Waratah Football Club in the first quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Waratah and Nightcliff at TIO Stadium on Saturday 19 January 2019.

Based on the umpire’s report and video evidence available, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be classified as careless conduct, low impact and high contact, resulting in a one-match penalty.

In summary, Bowles can accept a reprimand as an early guilty plea.

Zach Westerberg, of Waratah Football Club, has been charged with engaging in rough conduct against player number 4 of the Nightcliff Football Club in the second quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Waratah and Nightcliff at TIO Stadium on Saturday 19 January 2019.

Based on the video evidence available, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be classified as intentional conduct, low impact and body contact, resulting in a one-match penalty.

In summary, Westerberg can accept a reprimand as an early guilty plea.

Samuel Autio, of Palmerston Football Club, has been charged with striking player number 29 of the Darwin Buffaloes Football Club in the third quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Palmerston and Darwin Buffaloes at Asbuild Oval on Saturday 19 January 2019.

Based on the video evidence available, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be classified as intentional conduct, low impact and high contact, resulting in a two-match penalty.

In summary, Autio can accept a one-match penalty as an early guilty plea.

Samuel Talbot, of Palmerston Football Club, has been charged with striking player number 15 of the Darwin Buffaloes Football Club in the fourth quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Palmerston and Darwin Buffaloes at Asbuild Oval on Saturday 19 January 2019.

Based on the video evidence available, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be classified as intentional conduct,  medium impact and high contact, resulting in a three-match penalty.

In summary, Talbot can accept a two-match penalty as an early guilty plea.

All clubs have until 9pm ACST Tuesday to indicate whether the charged players accept the imposed sanctions or they wish to challenge at Tribunal.
