TIO NTFL Match Review Panel: Finals Week 3

MRP Week 3 finals

AFL Northern Territory (AFLNT) wishes to advise the Match Review Panel has reviewed all matches played in Finals Week 3 of the 2018/19 TIO NTFL season and the following charges have been laid in the senior divisions:

Men’s Premier League

Dionysius Munkara, of Tiwi Bombers Football Club, has been charged with kicking player number 32 of Southern Districts Football Club in the fourth quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Men’s Premier League match between Tiwi Bombers and Southern Districts at TIO Stadium on Saturday 9 March 2019.

Based on the umpire’s report, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be classified as intentional conduct, low impact and body contact, resulting in a one-match penalty.

Due to Munkara’s existing bad record (the Player has been suspended for four matches in the last two years) his final penalty was increased to two-matches but he can accept a one-match penalty as an early guilty plea.

Men’s Division 2

James Gillies, of Nightcliff Spartans Football Club, has been charged with striking player number 21 of Banks Bulldogs Football Club in the fourth quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Division 2 match between Nightcliff Spartans and Banks Bulldogs at TIO Oval 2 on Saturday 9 March 2019.

Based on the umpire’s report, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be classified as intentional conduct, medium impact and high contact, resulting in a three-match penalty.

In summary, Gillies can accept a two-match penalty as an early guilty plea.
