The Daly River Buffaloes take on Palumpa Power in the 2019 Wadeye AFL Grand Final this Saturday 21 September at Wadeye Main Oval.

Going down in last year’s Grand Final by 25 points to Nangu Crows, Palumpa defeated first year team, Nganambala Eagles in the dying seconds last Saturday to secure its second consecutive Grand Final appearance.

After finishing top of the table in its first year in the competition, registering only three losses for the year, the last against Palumpa in Round 11, the Buffaloes, who travel over two hours along a dirt road each week to play, will be looking to take home the premiership cup.

AFLNT Regional Development Manager – Wadeye, Josh Connell said it will be a tight contest with some great footy on display.

“Jeff Wodidj will be hard to stop for Palumpa, he’s a goal kicking machine from the midfield who will hungry for his team to bring the cup home.

“Captain/Coach for Daly River, Jack Daly, has been working extremely hard to get the team together and a win for them would be invaluable.

“This season we have seen some great football played and Saturday is the chance to cheer on the two teams and celebrate with a BBQ, jumping castle, men’s and women’s half time sprints and cultural dance displays,” he said.
