AFL Northern Territory (AFLNT) is pleased to announce that Territorian Danielle Ponter is one of the 36 players invited to the 2018 NAB AFL Women’s Draft Combine which will be held at Etihad Stadium in Melbourne on Tuesday, October 2 and Wednesday, October 3.

The players have been nominated by the AFL W clubs to attend the Draft Combine following the recent NAB AFL Women’s Under-18 Championships.

The Draft Combine will assess the players’ fitness and skills ahead of the NAB AFL Women’s Draft which will be held in October. Clubs will also have the opportunity to interview the players.

AFL Head of Women’s Football Nicole Livingstone said the players have been nominated from every state and territory.

“After the high standard of matches at the recent NAB AFLW Under-18 Championships on the Gold Coast, the best 36 under-age players from the from throughout Australia will be in Melbourne to test,” she said.

AFLNT Manager of Talent and Pathways Wally Gallio said the Ponter’s selection was reward for her hard work and talent.

“Danielle has been an outstanding junior player in the Territory for a long time and going to the National Draft Combine will allow her to demonstrate her skills at the highest level.

“She has a number of VFL W games under her belt this season and is certainly in the eye of the selectors ahead of AFL W season,” he said.
