NTFL Tribunal: Round 3

AFL Northern Territory (AFLNT) advises the independent Tribunal sat tonight, Wednesday 24 October, to hear one charge from Round 3 of the senior division TIO NTFL games.

Thomas Davies, of St Mary’s Football Club, appeared before the Tribunal to answer the charge of striking on player number 19 of Wanderers Football Club in the first quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Wanderers and St Mary’s at TIO Stadium on Saturday 20 October 2018.

Davies pleaded not guilty to the charge.

In summary, Davies was found guilty of striking.

It was the view of the Tribunal that the incident should remain classified as intentional conduct, low impact and high contact, resulting in a two-match penalty.

When considering the penalty, the Tribunal said;

“After consideration of Thomas Davies’ record and taking into account circumstances of provocation the penalty imposed by the Tribunal is a two-match sanction.”
