NTFL Match Review Panel: Round 12

AFL Northern Territory (AFLNT) wishes to advise the Match Review Panel has reviewed all matches played in Round 12 of the 2017/18 TIO NTFL Season and laid the following charges across the senior divisions.
 

MEN'S PREMIER LEAGUE

Mitchell Taylor, of Wanderers Football Club, has been charged with forceful front on contact on player number 19 of Darwin Buffaloes Football Club, in the first quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Wanderers and Darwin at TIO Stadium on Saturday 6th January 2018.
 
Based on the umpire’s report and video evidence, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be classified as intentional conduct, high impact and high contact and was referred directly to the Tribunal. 

Desmond Ugle, of Palmerston Football Club, has been charged with abusive, insulting, threatening or obscene language towards or in relation to an umpire in the fourth quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Palmerston and Nightcliff at TIO Stadium on Sunday 7th January 2018.  
 
Based on the umpire’s report and video evidence, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be referred directly to the Tribunal. 

Ugle has also been charged with a second offence of behaving in an abusive, insulting, threatening or obscene manner towards or in relation to an umpire in the fourth quarter of the same game.  

Based on the umpire’s report and video evidence, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be referred directly to the Tribunal. 
 
Ugle has also been charged with a third offence of serious misconduct after the same game.
 
Based on incident referral, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be classified as intentional and should be referred directly to the Tribunal. 

Ugle has also been charged with a fourth offence of behaving in an abusive, insulting, threatening or obscene manner towards or in relation to an umpire after the same game.  
 
Based on the umpire’s report, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be classified as intentional and should be referred directly to the Tribunal.

Pierce Liddle, of Southern Districts Football Club, has been charged with rough conduct against player number 30 of Waratah Football Club, in the first quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Southern Districts and Waratah at TIO Stadium on Sunday 7th January 2018.
 
Based on umpire’s report, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be classified as intentional conduct, medium impact and high contact resulting in a three-match suspension.
 
In summary, Liddle can accept a two-match penalty as an early guilty plea.
 

MEN’S DIVISION TWO 
 
Dylan Podsiadly, of PINT Football Club, has been charged with abusive, insulting, threatening or obscene language towards or in relation to an umpire at the end of the TIO NTFL Men’s Division Two match between PINT and Nightcliff Spartans at TIO Oval 2 on Sunday 7th January 2018.
 
Based on the umpire’s report it was the view of the panel that the incident should result in a one-match suspension.

In summary, Podsiadly can accept a reprimand as an early guilty plea.
 

TRIBUNAL

At this stage Tribunal is set to sit on Wednesday 10th January from 6pm to hear the matters of Taylor and Ugle. 

The Southern Districts Football Club has advised they will challenge the charge laid against Pierce Liddle, but due to the player’s unavailability they are expected to ask the Tribunal for a deferral.
