Family fundraising effort for Tai Martin-Page

AFL Northern Territory (AFLNT) in conjunction with the Darwin Buffaloes Football Club are pleased to support a fundraising initiative by the Martin-Page family to help injured player Tai walk again.

The Go Fund Me page - https://www.gofundme.com/HelpTaiwalkagain - hopes to raise $100,000 that will be used to assist with medical costs and ongoing treatment for Tai. And with Tai away from his home state and unlikely to leave Perth for some time, any funds raised will also be put to good use for his family’s travel and accommodation.

Bridgit Martin, Tai’s mum said the family had been truly touched by the outpouring of support but the road ahead was largely unknown.

“Today Tai’s bed has been moved up so he is no longer staring at the ceiling and is able to sit up a little. We are hopeful he will move from ICU to the spinal unit tonight but have been told by the medical staff that a final prognosis of his condition is still some time away.

“He remains his positive, optimistic self and with all the love we’ve been receiving and the boundless generosity I know that will continue to come our way, I am sure that we can get him back on his feet.”

AFLNT and the Darwin Buffaloes Football Club are exploring local fundraising options to help support Tai and his family and will advise of plans in the near future.

We thank the media for their support in getting this message out and the continued respect of the family’s privacy.
