Country Clash callout

TIO Treager Park

AFL Northern Territory (AFLNT) is excited to announce the newly introduced Central Australian round-robin Country Clash.

Country Clash is being played across two days, 30 March and 31 March and are now calling for team nominations. Teams have until COB on Friday 9 March to submit their nominations.

The number of men’s teams to participate in the Country Clash will be capped at 16. Each team may submit a maximum of 24 players and two emergencies. All players must be at least 15 years of age at the time of playing.

A registration fee of $250 is required from each team by COB Friday 9 March for their team’s nomination to be accepted. Payments may be made by cash, cheque and/or credit card in the AFL Northern Territory office at TIO Traeger Park, via Speed Street, Alice Springs.

TIO Traeger Park will be the location of all the round-robin matches played over the two-day Country Clash. The duration of each match will be 10 minute halves with no time on.

AFLNT’s Central Australia Football Operations Manager, Simon Hargrave, said he is looking forward to seeing the local talent back on the footy field ahead of the official TIO CAFL season.

“Country Clash will provide a fantastic opportunity for teams from right across the Central Australian region to come together to play the game that they are passionate about.

“This is also a perfect opportunity to get some pre-season game practice in before the CAFL season, which kicks off in April”, said Hargrave.
