TIO NTFL MATCH REVIEW PANEL - RD 12

AFL Northern Territory wishes to advise the following charges in the senior divisions.

TIO NTFL MATCH REVIEW PANEL
FULL STATEMENT: 2016/17 TIO NTFL SEASON

AFL Northern Territory (AFLNT) wishes to advise the Match Review Panel has reviewed all matches played in Round 12 of the 2016/17 TIO NTFL Season.

The following charges have been laid in the senior divisions:  

MEN'S PREMIER LEAGUE

Brenton Motlop, Wanderers Football Club, has been charged with rough conduct, during the second quarter of the TIO NTFL Men's Premier League match between Nightcliff and Wanderers at TIO Stadium on Saturday 7 January 2017.
 
Based on video evidence, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be classified as careless, low impact and high contact, resulting in a one-match penalty.
 
In summary, due to an existing poor record, Motlop's one-match suspension has been increased to two-matches but he can accept a one-match penalty with an early guilty plea.

Brenton Motlop has also been charged with kneeing an opposition player, during the fourth quarter of the same game. 

Based on the umpire's report and video evidence, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be classified as intentional, low impact and contact to the body, resulting in a one-match penalty. 

In summary, due to an existing poor record, Motlop's one-match suspension has been increased to two-matches but he can accept a one-match penalty with an early guilty plea.


Steven Anderson, Darwin Buffaloes Football Club, has been charged with headbutting, during the third quarter of the TIO NTFL Men's Premier League match between Southern Districts and Darwin Buffaloes at TIO Stadium on Sunday 8 January 2017.

Based on the umpire's report and video evidence, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be classified as intentional, medium impact and high contact, resulting in a three-match penalty. 

In summary, due to an existing poor record, Anderson's three-match suspension has been increased to four-matches but he can accept a three-match penalty with an early guilty plea.


Liam Philpott, Darwin Buffaloes Football Club, has been charged with rough contact, during the second quarter of the TIO NTFL Men's Premier League match between Southern Districts and Darwin Buffaloes at TIO Stadium on Sunday 8 January 2017.

Based on video evidence, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be classified as intentional, medium impact and high contact, resulting in a three-match penalty. 

In summary, due to an existing poor record, Philpott's three-match suspension has been increased to four-matches but he can accept a three-match penalty with an early guilty plea.


MEN'S DIVISION 2

Henry Lionel Tollner, Mindil Sharks Football Club, has been charged with striking, during the third quarter of the TIO NTFL Men's Division 2 match between Nightcliff Spartans and Mindil Sharks at TIO Oval 2 on Saturday 7 January 2017.
 
Based on the umpire's report, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be classified as intentional, low impact and high contact, resulting in a two-match penalty.
 
In summary, Tollner can accept a one-match penalty with an early guilty plea.
