TIO NTFL match review panel full statement: 2016/17 TIO NTFL season

AFL Northern Territory (AFLNT) wishes to advise the Match Review Panel has reviewed all matches played on Grand Final day of the 2016/17 TIO NTFL Season.

The following charges have been laid:   

Division One

 
Marius Clarke, St Mary’s Football Club, has been charged with striking in the fourth quarter of the TIO NTFL Division One Grand Final between Waratah Football Club and St Mary’s Football Club at TIO Oval on Saturday 18th March 2017.
 
Based on video evidence and umpire report, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be classified as intentional, medium impact and high contact resulting in a three-match suspension.
 
The player has a bad record within the last 12 months, and with a Grand Final loading, the sanction increases from a three-week to a six-week sanction.
  
In summary, Clarke can accept a five-match penalty as an early guilty plea.
 
 
Justin Robinson, St Mary’s Football Club, has been charged with engaging in a melee in the fourth quarter of the TIO NTFL Division One Grand Final between Waratah Football Club and St Mary’s Football Club at TIO Oval on Saturday 18th March 2017.
 
Based on video evidence it was the view of the panel that the incident should result in a one-match suspension.
 
The base sanction of one match has increased to two matches as a result of a loading applicable to offences committed during a Grand Final.
  
In summary, Robinson can accept a one-match penalty as an early guilty plea.
 
 
Russell McAdam, St Mary’s Football Club, has been charged with engaging in a melee in the fourth quarter of the TIO NTFL Division One Grand Final between Waratah Football Club and St Mary’s Football Club at TIO Oval on Saturday 18th March 2017.
 
Based on video evidence it was the view of the panel that the incident should result in a one-match suspension.
 
The base sanction of one match has increased to two matches as a result of a loading applicable to offences committed during a Grand Final.
  
In summary, McAdam can accept a one-match penalty as an early guilty plea.
 
 
Sebastian Rioli, St Mary’s Football Club, has been charged with engaging in a melee in the fourth quarter of the TIO NTFL Division One Grand Final between Waratah Football Club and St Mary’s Football Club at TIO Oval on Saturday 18th March 2017.
