NTFL 2017/18 Match Review Panel - Round 2

TIO NTFL MATCH REVIEW PANEL
FULL STATEMENT: 2017/18 TIO NTFL SEASON

AFL Northern Territory (AFLNT) wishes to advise the Match Review Panel has reviewed all matches played in Round 2 of the 2017/18 TIO NTFL Season.
 
The following charges have been laid:   
 
PREMIER LEAGUE
 
Harley Puruntatameri, Tiwi Bombers Football Club, has been charged with striking during the first quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Nightcliff Football Club and Tiwi Bombers Football Club at TIO Stadium on Saturday October 14, 2017.

Based on video evidence, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be classified as intentional, low impact and high contact, resulting in a two-match penalty. 

In summary, Puruntatameri can accept a one match early plea penalty. 
  
 
Liam Philpott, Darwin Buffaloes Football Club, has been charged with striking during the third quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Darwin Buffaloes Football Club and St Mary’s Football Club at TIO Stadium on Saturday October 14, 2017.

Based on video evidence, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be classified as intentional, low impact and high contact, resulting in a two-match penalty. 

The player has a bad record of three matches suspended within the last two years, which increases the final penalty three matches. 

In summary, Philpott can accept a two-match early plea. 

 

Ben Rioli, St Mary’s Football Club, has been charged with tripping during the fourth quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Premier League match between Darwin Buffaloes Football Club and St Mary’s Football Club at TIO Stadium on Saturday October 14, 2017.

Based on video evidence, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be classified as careless, low impact to the body, resulting in a one-match penalty. 

In summary, Rioli can accept a reprimand as an early plea penalty. 

 
DIVISION ONE
 
Matthew Gill, Pint Football Club, has been charged with abusive, insulting, threatening or obscene language during the third quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Division 1 match between Banks Football Club and PINT Football Club at Gardens Oval 2 on Sunday October 15, 2017.

Based on the umpire’s report, it was the view of the panel that the incident resulted in a one-match penalty. 

In summary, Gill can accept a reprimand as an early plea penalty.

Matthew Gill, Pint Football Club, has been charged with striking during the third quarter of the TIO NTFL Men’s Division 1 match between Banks Football Club and PINT Football Club at Gardens Oval 2 on Sunday October 15, 2017.

Based on the umpires report and medical report, it was the view of the panel that the incident should be classified as intentional, low impact and high contact, resulting in a two-match penalty.

In summary, Gill can accept a one-match early plea penalty.
