Power and Water new MLLLC Program Partner

Power and Water sign-on as Program Partners of MLLLC Education Program for Young Territorians.

AFL Northern Territory is pleased to announce Power and Water as a program partner of the Michael Long Learning and Leadership Centre (MLLLC).

The MLLLC is designed to harness the power of AFL football in the Northern Territory to give young Indigenous Territorians the same opportunities in life as their non-Indigenous peers.

The MLLLC has a focus well beyond football in order to provide a unique sporting and educational model that will cater for Indigenous male and female students from remote areas.

AFLNT Chief Executive Officer Tony Frawley is excited with the new outcome generating partnership.

“Power and Water has been a supporter of Australian Rules football for many years and we are pleased to see this support evolve into a partnership that will focus on education and career development,” Mr Frawley said today.

“The students in residence will be able to learn and engage with the Power and Water team in an innovative way, using the Centre to its full potential as a learning and education hub.”

Power and Water Chief Executive John Baskerville believes the partnership will result in many great outcomes for the young Territorians involved with the program.

“Power and Water is excited to be a partner in this great initiative, it is an integral part of our Indigenous Employment and Career Development Strategy,” Mr Baskerville said.

“The education program provides Power and Water with valuable opportunities to engage with young Indigenous people about where electricity and water comes from in their community and how it gets to their homes, as well as career pathway options for aspiring students.

“Partnering with the MLLLC and its innovative education program is a clear demonstration of Power and Water’s commitment to make a genuine difference to the lives of young Indigenous Territorians.

“Our community partnership program provides valuable opportunities to build meaningful relationships within the community in which we operate.
