NAAFVLS All-Stars welcomed to MLLLC

NAAFVLS All-Stars week long camp in the MLLLC.

The NAAFVLS Remote All-Stars have commenced their one week education and training themed camp at the Michael Long Learning and Leadership Centre.

The group of players from remote communities throughout the NT will undergo a week of education based training at the MLLLC, incorporating a Community Legal Education session from key program partner the North Australia Aboriginal Family Violence Legal Service (NAAFVLS).

Following on from 2014, all players selected in the NAAFVLS Remote All-Stars team are required to undertake a Working with Children and Police Check and a screen for active Domestic Violence Orders (DVO’s) through NAAFVLS.

AFLNT insists that all program participants clear all checks and screening to partake in the program.

Education sessions in the MLLLC over the next week include respect and responsibility, drugs and alcohol awareness, nutrition and hydration, leadership, and the importance of education and awareness of career opportunities.

Up to five players have the opportunity to leave the camp with a prized NT Thunder Remote Player Contract, and more importantly will become ambassadors for NAAFVLS.
