Week three of the 2013-14 TIO NTFL Always Wear Your Seatbelt Finals Series gets under way this week at TIO Stadium with the TIO NTFL Womens Grand Final between Waratah and the Buffettes from 4.00pm.

"Our Women’s Football has been the strongest it has ever been during the 2013-14 Season with eight league sides it continues to develop in leaps and bounds," said AFLNT CEO Tony Frawley.

The Youth Girls Grand Final will provide a perfect prelude on TIO Stadium Oval 1 at 10.30pm with Wanderers taking on St Marys in the decider with Wanderers making the Grand Final in their inaugural season.

"It is great to see Wanderers putting in a Youth Girls side and making the Grand Final in their inaugural year a fantastic achievement and shows the effort all our clubs are putting in off the feild to develop new members and playing bases," added Frawley.

In another unprecedented step AFLNT is taking towards developing the TIO NTFL Women’s Competition the game will be streamed LIVE on AFLNTv! with guest commentary from ABC’s Natasha Medbury. Viewers can log on from 4.00pm to catch all the action LIVE

"Female football continues to be our fastest growing demographic in the NT with girls now making up larger percentage of our participation statistics, this will all build towards a formalised talent pathway and the Women’s All Stars Match later in the year."

In a national first the No-More Campaign in conjunction with Catholic Care, the TIO NTFL Women’s Grand Final teams will link arms and say No More to Domestic Family Violence of which No More Campaigner Charlie King was extremely pleased about.

"We congratulate the NTFL Women’s Grand Finalists, Waratah and Darwin, and their clubs and supporters for their support of the No More Campaign. The Campaign has long been supported by men’s football teams linking arms as a symbolic way of stating their commitment to reducing the level of violence against women and children. In a national first, these women’s teams will link together in support of the men’s ongoing efforts to take a stand and say ‘No More’ to family violence."

"The finals action at TIO over Semi Final weekend was nothing short of sensational with the Wanderers taking it right up to St Marys and the Waratah Football Club continuing to build momentum which is boding well for another cracking match this weekend and the following week in the Grand Final, so I urge footy lovers to get down and witness some of the best Territory footy on offer," added Frawley.
