NT Thunder name 2014 invitational training squad

The Northern Territory Football Club is pleased to announce an invitational training squad as part of the selection process for the 2014 NEAFL season.

In a different approach to squad selection from previous years NT Thunder Head Coach Xavier Clarke has been in discussions with respective NTFL Coaches in developing a strong list of local talent and identifying interested key recruits based on performances in the current NTFL competition.

Players will be required to attend a compulsory training session on Wednesday 11th December at TIO Stadium to start the selection process and building the club’s campaign for the 2014 NEAFL season.

Xavier comments:

"This selection concept is a great way for identified players to learn more about the Northern Territory Football Club, the NEAFL competition and the demands of being a NT Thunder player - the training schedule, access to professional services and travel commitments during the season. We will also film the session as an avenue to provide feedback. Our aim is to provide a platform for players to buy into the program and take ownership of the direction of the club."

It is important to note that all Under 18 State Academy players eligible for senior selection will not be invited to this session as their pathway to play at the NEAFL level lies within the State Academy selection process.
