RD6 BAFL

Round six of the 2024 SunCable Barkly Australian Football League (BAFL) delivered a day filled with thrilling men's division action, as teams battled it out to secure crucial wins and improve their standings on the ladder.

Ali Curung asserted their dominance with a convincing victory over the Saints, highlighted by Ethan Wilson's standout performance with five goals. Asten Ross also made significant contributions, both in midfield and on the scoreboard with two goals, while Nicky Poulson's ground ball work added to the team's solid display. Despite their efforts, the Saints found solace in Cedric Price's commendable performance.

It was a tale of two stories in this clash, Barkly Work Camp (BWC) struggled to convert scoring chances into goals against Elliott, who capitalized on their opportunities with deadly accuracy. Elliott's impressive 88.2% goal accuracy proved decisive as they secured a 31-point victory. Captain Kendrick Albert led by example, earning best on ground honors with stellar leadership. Patrick Campbell and Kurt Raymond were instrumental with three goals each, supported by Walter Raymond and Lane Jackson's impactful contributions. Despite the loss, Darryl Kunoth and Kieran Kingston stood out for BWC.

Meanwhile, the Spitfires made a significant move up the ladder with a commanding 70-point win over the Eagles. Zachariah Limerick and vice-captain Lachlan Dunemann were key contributors with four goals each, while John Norman's presence posed challenges for the opposition. Despite their efforts, the Eagles fought hard throughout the match to stay competitive.

The women’s division had the weekend off with a division-wide bye.
