NTFL Youth Presentation Awards this Sunday

Youth awards

The best and fairest players, as well as the leading goalkickers, from the youth divisions of the 2018/19 TIO NTFL competition will be recognised in a special awards ceremony on Sunday afternoon.

The awards highlight the current achievements of the players as well as identify many of them as future stars of the NTFL competition, with past winners going on to play senior Premier League football and also being selected for NT Thunder and NT representative honours.

After each game in the Under 18 Boys, Under 18 Girls, Under 16 Hickman, Under 16 Leverence, Under 15 Girls, Under 14 Gundersen and Under 14 Lew Fatt divisions the field umpires voted 3-2-1 for who they deemed to be the best players of the game.

Throughout the home and away season the votes are tallied, and any player who has not served a match suspension is then eligible to win the division’s respective best and fairest medal. In the event where more than one eligible player ends the season on the same number of votes then joint winners will be awarded.

The teams have also been entering their goalkickers after each game, and the leading goalkicker for the division will be the player who kicked the most goals after the last round of the home and away season.

Stay tuned to the NTFL and AFLNT social media channels on Sunday, as we’ll take you from the red carpet arrivals through all the awards, culminating in the naming of the Under 18 Girls and Under 18 Abala (Boys) best and fairest medals.
