Remaining Finals Week Two fixtures unveiled

Div 1 finals week two is going to heat up

The remaining games for Finals Week Two in the 2018/19 TIO NTFL season are now available for this weekend.

In the main Men’s Division 1 Semi Final, the Banks boys return to the action this weekend to take on Waratah at 4:30pm on Saturday at TIO Oval 2. This match-up comes following AFLNT’s announcement this evening that the Waratah Football Club is awarded a win in the Qualifying Final over Nightcliff.

Banks won 16 games this season, and two of those were 31-points and 52-point victories over the Tahs. But the Tahs have been premiers the last two seasons so are no stranger to success, especially over their Gardens-based rivals.

The other Men’s Division 1 Semi Final will be an elimination game between Nightcliff and PINT at 12:30pm on Saturday, and will also be played at TIO Oval 2.

The Tigers and Greenants have met twice this season, and both games have ended as close affairs, PINT winning one game by 16-points and Nightcliff claiming the other by 10-points. Nightcliff finished above their opposition on the ladder, but PINT is on a roll, winning its last four games.

In between the Division 1 games on TIO Oval 2, the Men’s Division 2 semi finals will take place. First up at 2:30pm is Jabiru hosting Banks. The Bombers lost their Qualifying Final against St Mary’s yesterday and haven’t been in the greatest of form but have won a previous encounter this season when up against the Bulldogs.

Banks, on the other hand, jumped out of the blocks, when they came up against Jabiru only a few weeks ago and went on to win by 38-points. Their fans will also recall the 2016/17 Grand Final where they recorded another 30 plus point victory over the Bombers.

The second Men’s Division 2 Semi Final will see the battle of the two-affiliated clubs. After earning a week off for finishing atop the ladder, the Nightcliff Spartans will play the St Mary’s Sharks at 6:30pm.

They’ve been the best two teams in the Division 2 competition all season and one of them will book a spot in the grand final with a win on Saturday night. And if that doesn’t whet your appetite enough, then they’re one win apiece so far in 2018/19, with the Spartans’ only loss coming at the hands of the Sharks.

The Under 16 Boys and Under 14 Boys division finals for this weekend have all been released, in what is their first week of finals. All will be run and won just in time for the NTFL Junior Presentation, which is taking place on Sunday afternoon.

Fixture details for the Men’s Premier League, Women’s Premier League, Under 18 Boys, Under 18 Girls and Under 12s in Finals Week Two were released yesterday and can be viewed here
