Stu Totham will be the new AFLNT CEO

AFL Northern Territory (AFLNT) is pleased to announce Stuart Totham has been appointed to the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
 
The current AFLNT Chief Operating Officer and Chairman of Cazalys Palmerston Club and Palmerston Golf Club, Totham who was raised in Darwin, has more than 15 years experience as a sports administrator.
 
His extensive experience includes senior roles with the South Australian Cricket Association, Port Adelaide Football Club, Sturt Football and first-hand involvement with the unique dealings of local football as the inaugural CEO of NT Thunder, overseeing the Club for three years, including its 2011 premiership success. 
 
Totham is a Fellow of the Institute of Public Accountants and has worked for both private businesses and public sectors.
 
AFLNT Chairman Ross Coburn said he was looking forward to having Totham lead AFLNT into the future. 
 
“I was really pleased with the calibre of applicants we received for the CEO role and believe we have found the right person for the job.
 
“Stu is a strong communicator and leader who is results-focused and likes to work closely with stakeholders and empower those he works with. Given his extensive professional background, and with his most recent experience at AFLNT over the last 18 months, he is the right person to lead our organisation,” Coburn said. 
 
Totham said he was looking forward to building on the good work already achieved and further progressing football in the Northern Territory.  
 
“I thank the AFL and AFLNT Board for giving me the opportunity to take up the role as CEO of AFLNT. I have a long history and passion for Territory football and believe this with my experience and understanding of the current football landscape across the NT, sees me well-placed to have a positive impact on the game during my tenure. 
 
“I look forward to the challenge and working with AFL, AFLNT Board, Executive, staff and stakeholders throughout the Territory to deliver outstanding results for Territory football,” Totham said. 

Totham will officially commence as CEO tomorrow, Thursday 29 March 2018.
