Tribunal Update

AFLNT wishes to advise the independent Tribunal sat on Wednesday 28 February to hear one charge from Round 1 of the TIO NTFL Men’s Division 1.

The case was delayed until now due to an external investigation.

Jardine Blanco of Darwin Buffaloes Football Club had an advocate contest the charge of rough conduct during the third quarter of the Round 1 match in the TIO NTFL Men’s Division 1 game between Southern Districts Football Club and Darwin Buffaloes at TIO Oval 2 on Saturday 7 October 2017.

In summary, Blanco was found guilty.

Based on the evidence available the independent Tribunal classified the incident as careless, severe impact and high contact, resulting in an eight-match suspension.

The penalty will commence the next time Blanco registers in the NTFL and any other Australian football league, should he register there first.
