New format for NTFL Junior Awards

Youth Presentation afternoon

AFL Northern Territory (AFLNT) is exited to announce that for the 2017/18 TIO NTFL season a new standalone event will be held to present the best and fairest competition awards for all grades Under 18 and below.

The 2017/18 NTFL Youth Presentation Afternoon will be held at the Darwin Waterfront from 3-6pm on Sunday 4 March 2018.

The afternoon will include the vote count for the last four rounds of Under 14s, Under 15 Youth Girls and Under 16s. Plus the vote count for the last six rounds of the Under 18 Boys and Girls. The counts will culminate in the best and fairest being awarded for each respective grade.

All award recipients and top contenders will receive an invitation for them and their families to attend the afternoon free of charge.

AFLNT’s Chief Operating Officer, Stu Totham said he believes this event will pay due respect to the next generation of talented Territory footballers.

“This exciting new event will allow outstanding juniors to receive the proper recognition they deserve for their effort in front of their biggest supporters, their families.

“It is important to properly acknowledge the up and coming stars in our competition as they are the future of the sport we love,” said Totham.

The senior awards will be presented on Sunday 11 March at the 2017/18 NTFL Nichols Medal.
